Most recent release...

Dear Readers,

Like most little girls,  I entertained a secret desire to be a princess.  Princesses, I was sure, did not have freckles and did not get kicked out of ballet class.   Rory, my heroine in HER ROYAL BODYGUARD, is a woman  after my own heart.   A bookish, klutzy surf diva, Rory  dreams of owning a children's bookstore.   But her life course alters dramatically on her twenty-third birthday when she discovers her secret heritage.   Careful what you wish for on the candles on your birthday cake!  That intelligent, tall, dark and handsome man--just may be a prince!

Princess Charlotte Aurora of Estaire unwittingly holds the power to change the destiny of two countries and to win the heart of the prince who is duty-bound to marry her . . . if she can make it through her princess lessons alive.

I grew up in Lakeside, California, and often visited La Jolla and the majestic Hotel Del Coronado where this story is set.

Her Royal Bodyguard

Harlequin Intrigue

ISBN: 0-373-2278-2

June 2004

"You are a princess, betrothed to Prince Laurent of Ducharme.  My duty is to train you in royal protocol.  And to keep you alive."

Learning of her secret birthright shocked Rory Kenilworth, but with "accidents" befalling her and deadly bullets flying, she had no time for regrets.   She had to claim her heritage--and somehow resist the fierce emotion blazing in the eyes of her tutor and self-appointed bodyguard, compelling and mysterious royal secretary Sebastian Guimond.

The unpolished and dangerously charming princess left Prince Laurent, alias Sebastian, speechless.   His plan to safeguard Rory by going undercover as his own deputy secretary had backfired--because stopping the relentless killer depended on hardening his own heart against the woman he was honor-bound to marry, but forbidden to love...

Windansea Beach, La Jolla, California

Princess Protocol

Think you can handle the life of a princess?   Check out these princess protocols I discovered while researching this book:

When things go wrong, look past it and smile

A princess always conducts herself in a manner befitting her position.   The cameras are always watching.

A princess should be addressed by her title on first reference "Your Serene Highness" and "madame" thereafter.  Women curtsy and men must bow on making her acquaintance.

A princess never appears alone without her husband or a lady-in-waiting.

A princess always wears a hat at public events.

A princess only crosses her legs at the ankle.

A princess carries flowers when she wishes to avoid shaking hands at large functions.

A princess walks two paces behind her royal husband and may only address him by name in private.

A princess commands the love and respect of her prince charming.
